Howard Johnson’s wanted to do something special for their 100th anniversary, a creative celebration that honored the brand’s iconic past while reintroducing it to a new generation. So I created the 100-Year Time Capsule Collection, a limited-edition merch line and campaign that reimagines HoJo’s nostalgic Americana through a modern, collectible lens. Inspired by the idea of modern relics, the collection turns HoJo’s most recognizable symbols from fried clams and orange roofs to mid-century motor lodge graphics and their famous ice cream, into playful in-room keepsakes.
Everything came together as a social sweepstakes, with the art direction inspired by the golden age of Howard Johnson’s mixed into today’s collector culture.
